With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rieneke Marie Mattie of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 13, 2024 at the age of 43. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her grandparents, Martin, Sadie Bowie, Elwood and Lucy Wilkie; her father-in-law Wayne; and her siblings-in-law, Jody and Jana.

She is survived by : her children, Jack Arthur and Andi Lee; her husband Jerry; her parents, Carol Wilkie (Cash MacDonald) of Mahoney's Beach and George Bowie (Afton); her siblings, George Bowie (Lindsey), Angelica Laybolt (Adam), Lanark, Nikita Bowie (Daniel Teasdale) and North; her grandfather-in-law Alice Mattie (Bayfield); and her brothers-in-law, Jamie (Nicole) and Johnny. She is also survived by her husband, children, siblings, family, and large circle of friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the C. L. Curry Funeral Home (135 College St, Antigonish, NS B2G1X9). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Church (45 Old Trunk Rd, Monastery, NS B0H1W0).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rieneke's memory, supporting a cause she held so dear to her heart, to the Cancer Resource Room (Cathy's Place - St. Martha's, Regional Hospital Foundation).
