With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barry Mitchell Boyd of Avonport, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric Boyd and S. Margaret Boyd (Smith); his wife Krista; his brothers, Rev. John, Rev. Michael and Reginald "Reg"; his brother-in-law Dennis Cochrane; his friend Doug Parker; George "Toot" and Margaret Cochrane.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathryn (Paul Young); his grandson Parker of Lockhartville; his close friend Marie Dalton Meisner; his stepmother Mattie (Bedford); his siblings, Jim of Belleville, ON, Anne Huestis (Ron), Carolyn Armstrong (Bill), Florence Bartol (David) and Bayswater; and his siblings-in-law, Andy Cochrane (Jill), Doug Cochrane (Michelle), Susan Cochrane and Deborah Boyd. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society - NS Division for Prostate Cancer Research, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6.
