She was predeceased by : her parents, Vernon Bowlby and Marrion Bowlby of Black Rock; her siblings, Verna Mae, Bertha, Lillian, Beatrice, Frank, Wesley, John and Carl; and her siblings-in-law, Barb Gates and John Gates.
She is survived by : her husband Carleton Irvine Gates (Aylesford); her children, Douglas Gates (Marianne), Elizabeth Ward (George Wicks) and Craig Gates (Auburn); her grandchildren, Jason Ward, Alyssa Ward, Gillianne Blanchard (Nicholas) and Johanna Gates; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Lyla Blanchard; her siblings, Hazel England, Phyllis Legge (Lloyd), Jeanie Doyle (Eric), Gordon (Diane) and Dale (Black Rock); and her sisters-in-law, Denise Smith, Marion Waddell (Bob) and Doris Gates (Peter Thorpe).
The family would like to thank all the healthcare professionals that assisted Frona during her illness at Valley Regional Hospital Foundation; Dixon Cancer Center; Yarmouth Regional Hospital; Soldiers' Memorial Hospital; and VON. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
