He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria June Sears; his parents, Sadie Belle and Clayton Sears; and his siblings, Helen, Susie, Bertha, Lawrence, Ronald, Norma and Leslie.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ruth Flemming (Dave Wallace), Helen Wheeler and Laura Lee Acker (Andrew); his grandchildren, Joshua Greenwood, Kayla Garron, Jennifer Dhillon, Jackie Macdonald, David Flemming, Aimee Acker and Aaron Acker; and his great grandchildren, Sammy, Ajay Dhillon, Rauri Macdonald, Averie Garron, Jayce Greenwood and Andy Acker Jr..

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Yarmouth Hospital Foundation in his honor.
