He was predeceased by: his parents, Hirtle Smith and Irma Townsend Smith; and his siblings, Julia Chase (Gerald), Charlotte Newell (Clifford), Mabel Holmes, Bonnie Foster (Jerald Davis), Charlie Smith (Dorothy), Arthur Smith and Lovell Smith.
He is survived by: his siblings, Merville Smith, Clifford'Sonny'Smith (Brenda) and Nellie Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Gloria Smith, Betty Smith and Burnley Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
