The memory of Mayola Jeanne Messenger in Bayside, Nova Scotia, who passed away on June 29, 2025 at the age of 90, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Nickerson and Edna Helena "Helen" Nickerson; her husband Sterling; and her siblings, Joanie, Ann, Jackie and Gary.

She is survived by: her sons, Stanford Messenger (Priscilla) and Raymond Messenger (Kim); her sister Charlene Banks (Gary) of Shag Harbour; her grandchildren, Bethany Newell (Katlin) of Centerville, NS, Abbey Messenger (Ricky Nickerson) of Yarmouth, NS, Leandra, Janaya and Jamin Messenger; and her great grandchildren, Madisyn and Bentley Newell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
