He was predeceased by : his wife Cecilia; his parents, William Hodder and Susanna Hodder; his daughter Rita; and his sisters, Rita and Frances Jane.
He is survived by : his children, Rosalind Hodder, Rona Prowse (David) of Halifax, NS, Beverley Simms (Ivan) of Enfield, NS, Alvin (Ruby) and William (Karen) of Halifax, NS; his grandchildren, Shawn Hooper (Kim), Andre Hodder (Heather), Nicole Tucker (Andrew), Pamela Hodder (Brad), David Simms (Aimee), Alicia Hodder (Jeff) and Nicholas Hodder; and his great grandchildren, Michaela, Thomas, Claire, Lucy, Emma, Lily, Chloe and Carter.
In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place with a maximum of 20 people at any one time permitted. As per COVID – 19 regulations, everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the church and masks are required.
No flowers by request of the family, but donations, in John's memory, may be made to the St. Peter's Anglican Church, Rock Harbour, NL.
