He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Nelson and Merle Nelson (Kent) of Bible Hill; his wife Eileen (Weatherbie); and his brothers, Robert Nelson (Bev) of British Columbia and Donald.
He is survived by: his siblings, Gordon (Ruth), Lloyd (Janet), Jane, MacCallum and Donna Matheson (Vaughan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
