Glenn douglas Bilby wrote a sympathy message

“It is with great sadness that I hear of the passing of Ernie. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Nova Scotia Land Survey Institute and later on we worked together at the survey firm of K. P. Mac Donald in Bible Hill. A day with Ernie was always an enjoyable day .He had a unique mannerism in his stride and the methodical way he approached things. He never seemed to get rattled by anything , took everything in stride and went about his business. A very wonderful person.!!”
