He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Owen and Ruth Evangeline Bent (Potter); his wife Gertrude Aileen (Taylor); his brother Charles LeMert Bent; and his brothers-in-law, David Taylor, Garnet Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Kendall Spurr and Blair Taylor.

He is survived by : his children, Robbie Bent (Martha), Donna Holmes, Jeffrey Bent (Terri), Andrea McNeil (Stephen) and Jane Height (Rick); his grandchildren, Josh, David, Gillian, Jenna, Jarrett, Colleen, Jeffrey and Benton; his great grandchildren, Jayden, Logan and Emily; and his siblings-in-law, Geraldine Bent (Hebb), Alberta Spurr, Linda Taylor, Sandy Taylor, Dorothy Taylor, Deborah Fiske (Raymond), Wayne Taylor and Richard Taylor (Norma). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held with immediate family only (following COVID-19 restrictions), a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to the Granville Centre Community Hall and Wadeville Cemetery.

“Hi to the family of a great man and my first cousin. Please accept our condolences. Like Ralph's wife Gertrude, he holds special memories for the far too few times we shared our lives. But when we did get together, it was always like we had just seen one another the week before. Always kind and inquisitive, Ralph would to share his thoughts on almost any issue. And spending hours on the backhoe, he had time to think a lot and offered down to earth, common sense suggestions. God bless to you all.”
