He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Toombs and Margaret Toombs (Robinson); his wife Marion; and his brother Stanley. He is survived by : his daughter Marlene Toombs (Paul Tanner); his siblings, Mary Toombs, Tatamagouche, Margaret Bayles, Grimsby, Ont, Fred Toombs (Marilyn), Guelph, George Toombs (Marion) and Vancouver; and his grandchildren, Mason and Madison. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Edwin's memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
