It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James MacKinnon of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James MacKinnon and Berta MacKinnon (Ross); and his siblings, George, Jean, Joyce and Leona.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Mae MacKinnon (Bushen); his son Neil MacKinnon (Leanne); and his granddaughters, Breagh Helen MacKinnon, Georgia, Ashlynn Mae MacKinnon and Kaylee Jo MacKinnon.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sweeny's Funeral Home (35 York St, Bridgewater, NS B4V1R2).
