He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Charles Oickle and Helen Gertrude Wamboldt (Oickle); his stepfather Ivan Harold Wamboldt; his brother Phillip Wamboldt; and his granddaughter Sadie Malak Abou Saleh.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Anne Oickle (Burke); his children, Andrew Oickle, Christianna Abou Saleh (Jamil) and Jonathan Oickle (Erin O'Connell); his grandchildren, Adwyn Oickle, Camron Oickle and Isobel Abou Saleh; his brother David Oickle (Robin); and his nieces and nephews, Sarah Oickle, Marie Claire Wamboldt, Eric Oickle and Daniel Oickle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Sweeny's Funeral Home Ltd. - Bridgewater (35 York St, Bridgewater, NS B4V1P8). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (25 Phoenix St, Bridgewater, NS B4V1M7).
