He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Brown and Joyce Brown Slade (Collier); and his sister Ruby Robinson. He is survived by: his wife Valerie (Ramey); his stepchildren, Troy, Michelle (Peter Yorke), Jerome (Sherry) and Dayle Dorey; his siblings, Linda Dolomont (Mike), Diane Brown and Clarence Brown (Cape Breton) of North Sydney; and his half-sister Pearl Rumboldt. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 god son.

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army and Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater.
