She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Marks and Gladys Marks (Bainbridge); and her husband John Brannon. She is survived by: her granddaughters, Nicole and Lisa; her great grandchild Nicholas of Sudbury; her brother Alexander "Sonny" Marks; her nieces, Nancy Keizer (Robert), Wanda Marks and Tina Marks (Shawn Janczewski); her great-nephew Nicholas; and her great-niece Alexandra.

“We were so sad to hear of Joan's passing. She was the last living aunt on my father's side of the family. My father was Russell Brannon (wife Pauline), the oldest son in that family and Johnny Brannon was his youngest sibling. I got to know Joan more after my mother, Pauline, died. She and Joan were close, spending a lot of time keeping in touch by phone. Joan would call me every now and then and we were able to keep up on family news. She was a gentle lady and will be missed.”
