He was predeceased by: his mother Grace. He is survived by: his wife Katja VanHaverbeke (Lutz); his children, Lance and Taylor VanHaverbeke (April Epple); his brothers, John VanHaverbeke (Kim), Larry (Annie) and Randy (Linda); his nieces, Vanessa Jiggens (Jeff), Heather Kendrick (Matt), Lori VanHaverbeke and Lisa Morton (Kurt); his great-nieces, Lux, Leia Kendrick, Katie VanHaverbeke and Lily Morton; his great-nephew Luke Morton; his siblings-in-law, Martin Lutz (Krystle) and Sonja (Mark); and his nieces and nephews, Angela Legere (Brandon), Hope Wybouw (Todd), Pepe, James, Blake, Chase, Laila, Noah and Sage.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be forwarded to Canadian Bible Society, palliative care unit at St Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish or the Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso.
