He was predeceased by : his parent Hugh Dooks; his wife Rose Card; and his siblings, Gerald, Maynard, Hugh, Ralph, Robert, Lola Shiers and Velma Homans.

He is survived by : his parent Kate Dooks (Bonn); his children, Heather Lake (Richie) and Mitchell Dooks (Stacey); his grandchildren, Amanda McLean (Scott), Tracey Burgess (Davie), Laura Lake (Tyler), Cody Lake, Brandon Dooks (Courtney), Allanah Dooks and Chass Dooks; his great grandchildren, Tenaya Sparks and Makiah Sparks; his sister Ada Burgess (Earl); and also, Cogmagun and Falmouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of Emerson may be made to Centre Burlington Community Hall or Card Beach Cemetery.
