She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Sparks and Laura Sparks (Downey); her husband Michael Patrick Bennett; her sons, Jewell and Thomas; her granddaughter Zyairrah Taylor; and her siblings, Frederick Jr., Vincent, Reginald and Leta (Retha).

She is survived by: her children, Michael and Phyllis (Calvin Willis); her godchildren, Anita Sparks, Frederick Sparks III, Dericka and Vincent Sparks; her siblings, Jules (Charmaine), Parker (Debra), Irma, Norma McNiven (Barry), Roberta Cross (Kenneth), Jocelyn, Marcella and Brenda Colley; and her daughter Janice Dunphy. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Cherry Brook United Baptist Church (292 Cherry Brook Rd, Cherry Brook, NS B2Z1A6). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Donations may be made to Cherry Brook United Baptist Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
