He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Nickerson and Cora Nickerson (Atwood); his former wife Alvira; his wife Mary; his close friend Thelma Stoddard; and his siblings, Leslie, Clinton, Edna, Ruth, Harold, Aldon and Herbert Hoover.

He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Nickerson (Felton); his brother Claire Nickerson (Isabel); his grandchildren, Christopher Atwood and Chrissy Atwood; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Rylee and Hunter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Evergreen Cemetery, or the VON.
