He was predeceased by: his parents, Maclean "Cannie" and Juanita (Blades); and his brothers, Joseph "Chucky", Anthony, Bobby, Arthur and Fred.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Spencer (O'Donnell); his sons, Justin and Joel; his stepson Trevor Spencer (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Courtney Waybret (Luke), Logan, Charlize and Luke; his great grandchildren, Owen and Oliver; and his sisters, Wanda, Linda Nickerson (Herbie), Marjorie Williams (Hubie) and Elsie Smith (Johnny). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
