He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Jackson; his stepfather Douglas C. Jackson; his siblings, Mike Mallett and Marsha O'Hanley; and his parents-in-law, Mary and Mickey Gillis.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen (Gillis); his daughters, Ainsley Sears (David) and Emily Young (Kyle); his grandsons, Owen and Bennett Sears; his siblings-in-law, Marg Gillis-Jones, Rosalie Gillis (David Johnson), Michelle MacKinnon (Doyle), Lorna Campbell, Stevie Gillis, Macdonald Gillis, Charles Gillis (Connie) and Jamie Gillis (Cathy); his nephew Mike Mallett (Lisa); and his great-nephew Conner.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Home (771 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9).
In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Dartmouth SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society.
