He was predeceased by: his parent Lawrence Sampson; and his siblings, Evelyn, Lillian, Isabel, Marie, Gordon and Vincent.

He is survived by: his parent Lucy Sampson (Harris); his wife Alice (Chiasson); his children, Kathy Hodgson (Eric), Windsor, Janice Roe (Stuart), Michael, Ottawa, Tim (Claudette), Lori Timmons (Kevin) and Cole Harbour; his grandchildren, Laura, Jackie, Erica, Christopher, Jonathan, Matthew, Coby, Cara and Paige; his great grandchildren, Ava, Sullivan and Ethan; and his sister Doris Deveaux.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
