It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Ernest Rideout of Creignish, Nova Scotia, born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chesley Rideout and Isabella Rideout (Trenchard); the mother of his children Ethel Rideout (Royal); and his siblings, Roy Rideout (Glace Bay), Clayton Rideout (NB) and June Rideout.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin of Arizona, Brian of Glace Bay, Roy of Glace Bay, Cheryl of Calgary and Phyllis (Laurie) of Creignish Rear; his brother Ralph (Debbie) of Glace Bay; and his grandchildren, Rebecca, Chealsea, Victoria, Jason, Amanda, Ashley, Courtney and John. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
