He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert King and Elizabeth King (Nicholson); his wife Olga; his daughter Mary Elizabeth; and his sister Elizabeth.

He is survived by: his daughter Maureen (Paul McVicar); his grandsons, Daniel Robert, Michael Xavier and William James McVicar; and his siblings, Cecilia Kendrick, Trudy Furzecott, Anne Chaisson, Voni King and Anthony King. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Donations in memory can be made to a charitable organization very near and dear to his heart, Hope Cottage in Halifax, NS, or to the IWK Foundation.
