He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Blaney and Patricia Blaney (Brown); and his brother George. He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his daughters, Karie (Darren), Michelle (Randy) and Tara (Brian); his sister Pam Korhonen (George); his grandchildren, Justin (Eva), Maddy, Morgan (Gordon), Dylan, Nick, Alyvia, Jack, James, Matthew, Katelynn, Addison, Kelly-Ann and Lily; and his great grandchildren, Jayce, Boston, Scotland, Kovu and Kody.

“Our condolences and deepest sympathy to you and your family brenda. I worked with brian in shearwater and he was a super guy! When he received a posting message to go to trenton in 1996, he asked me if i would consider taking his posting, if he took my place on the preserver. It turned out to be a win win, because brian got to stay in nova scotia and we were able to return to ontario and move back into our home that we had rented out. Rest in peace buddy!
