He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Gillis and Adele Gillis (Mitchell); and his siblings, Margie and Bill. He is survived by: his wife Sue Gillis (McNeish); his daughters, Erin Akitt (Aaron) and Cait Gillis; his grandchildren, Walt of Dartmouth, Dougie of Dartmouth and Ellie of Dartmouth; and his siblings, Kathleen (Keenie), Privette (Les) of North Carolina, Joanie McCarville (Cliff) of Halifax, Colleen Gallagher (Bruce) of Tantallon, Dennis Gillis of Toronto and Allan Gillis of New Glasgow. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
