He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Hare. He is survived by: his father Murray Hare Halifax (Brenda); his grandparents, Norma and Bill Whitehead; and his siblings, Sarah Norris and Chris Hare. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
