It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald Armstrong Bates of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, who passed away on August 5, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jean Beatrice Bates (Ganong) and Richard Bates. He is survived by: his brother Frank Armstrong Bates; his close friend Pierrette; his daughters, Paula Bates, Heather Manning (Brendan), Virginia and Brenda MacDonald Eastern Passage (Tony); the parent of his children Pat Bates (Dartmouth); his son Terry Provo (North Preston); his granddaughter Lisa Bezanson; and his siblings, Linda Pollock (Bill) of Alberta, Leah Urquhart (Dale), Anne Ukrainetz (George), Robert "Bob" Bates (Janice) and Joan Olive (Roy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
Due to COVID restrictions, we will have a visitation Wednesday, August 11, 2021 2-4pm and 6-8 pm.
Private family burial at a later date and no flowers by request. The family would appreciate donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Kiersteadville United Baptist Church, NB.
