He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Bidgood and Minnie Bidgood; and his former wives, Freda Bidgood and Dorothy Bidgood. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Bidgood; his children, Peter Bidgood (Cheryl Bidgood) and Janet Bidgood (Kevin Blakeney); his stepson Brad Jollymore (Judi Tabaras Duran); his grandchildren, Chelsea Bidgood (Stephan Saulnier), Spencer, Matthew Bidgood and Thiago Jollymore; and his great grandchild Blake Saulnier.

Most of his career was spent with the Nova Scotia Research Foundation.
