He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald MacAlpine and Thelma MacAlpine (Huskins); his brother Gerald; his son-in-law Paul Gillis; his brother-in-law Carl Thompson; and his wife Barbara (Thompson).
He is survived by: his brothers, Bob and Jim; his daughters, Susan MacAlpine-Gillis and Jill Brogan (Sean); his grandchildren, Jennifer Gillis-White (Justin), Kim Lejeune (Mitch), Scott Brogan and Anna Brogan; and his great grandchildren, William, Elizabeth and Gavin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom and Dad's memory may be made to The Mission to Seafarers – Halifax or to Cole Harbour Woodside United Church.
