He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Trider and Thelma Trider (Merson); his brother Carl; his siblings-in-law, James Colter, Karen King and Ellen Pohlman; and his parents-in-law, Lloyd and Ethel Greene.

He is survived by: his children, Murray (Raina) and Susan Phillips (Rick); his grandchildren, Nathan and Kaitlyn of Spring Hill, Tennessee; his brothers, Robert (Diane) and Christopher Beaver Brook (Janice); and his siblings-in-law, Heather Trider, Patricia Colter of Dartmouth, Marlene Campbell (Dave) of Dartmouth, Werner Pohlman, Lloyd Greene Jr. (Heather) and Eric Tusz-King (Margaret). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
