He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph and Flo; his sister Sandra; and his grandson Jacob Hamilton. He is survived by: his wife Bess Waterfield; his sons, Gary Waterfield (Marg) and Jeff Waterfield (Wanda); his stepsons, Scott Hamilton, Rae Hamilton (Donna), Dave Hamilton (Josée) and Danny Hamilton (Janet); his sister Shirley; his grandchildren, Chere, Randy, Mark, Julia, Michael, Emma and Moira; and his cousins, Sandra and Cheryl. He is also survived by 2 Great Grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Homes (771 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9). A burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens (767 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9). A reception was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Homes (771 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9).
