He was predeceased by: his siblings-in-law, Bill Rieger, Joe Rieger, Ed Kraushar, Dennis Parsons and Merle Switzer.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kara, Shayna, Lynnea Moore and Dexter Ermel; his children, Judy Moore (Gary), Kara, Shayna, Lynnea, Jacqueline Ermel (Brent) and Dexter; his siblings, Hilton Switzer, Garth Switzer (Lou), Loy Parsons and Lynn Petrie (Wilf Mayer); and his sister-in-law Jane Kraushar.
