With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Martin Daye (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 17, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Daye and Essie Daye (Josey); his wife Iona (Henley); and his siblings, Wallace, Vincent, Terry, Elmer, Helen, Irma and Tina.

He is survived by : his children, Greg Daye (Ashley) and Rachael Daye (Dawson); his grandchildren, Xander, Sawyer and Lacy; his siblings, Harry Daye (Mary), Gerald Daye (Judy), Laverne Sibley (Scott) and Sandra Brahim (Asad); and his close friend Brenda Osborne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

“My heart is sad to learn of the passing of my Uncle Gary. Since I was very young I always enjoyed being around his infectious laugh and slightly off the cuff sense of humour. He always made me smile and even though we were not that far apart in age, he always called me kid or kiddo. He gave the best hugs. His kind spirit and ear to ear grin he always had will be missed. I hope you’re having a big family card game with all our loved ones who we all miss.I love you.”
