He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sparks and Minnie Sparks (Cameron); his wives, Vera (Bates) and Olive (Campbell); his siblings, Gordon, Leonard, Clifton, Sam, Louise Macleod, Elizabeth Smith and Edith Llewellyn; and his grandsons, Adam Duff and Ryan Nederend.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Sparks (Clovie LeBlanc), Donna Sparks (Greg Duff) and Cathy Nederend (John); his great grandchildren, Matthew Nederend, Elizabeth Nederend, Jacob Nederend (Lauren), Jason Duff, Kelsi Campbell (Aaron), Allison Mac Donald (Sean) and Marni Aikens (Ray); and his stepsons, Barry (Danita) and John Cahoon. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren.
