She was predeceased by: her parents, Perley Gates and Geraldine Gates (Ellis); and her siblings, James and Freda Gates. She is survived by: her son Charles E. Burchell (Sonia) of Dartmouth; her brother George Gates (Shirley) of Edmonton; and her sister-in-law Barbara Gates of Oregon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
