He was predeceased by: his parents, Annabelle Holstead and Harold Holstead; his former wife Evelyn Holstead (Gormley); his son Douglas; his grandson Mitchell; his stepdaughter Kate Adams (Rob); and his son-in-law Robert MacKinnon.
He is survived by: his wife Jill of Dartmouth; his children, David (Leasa) of Dartmouth and Karen MacKinnon of Dartmouth; his daughter-in-law Sandra of Dartmouth; his stepchildren, Nikki Parnell of Westville, Joanne McPhee (Dennis) of Ancaster, Andrew Evans (Carla) of Bridgewater, Gareth Evans of Lower Sackville and Daniel Evans (Michelle) of Stillwater Lake; his grandchildren, Michael, Maria, Ryan (Ryann), Matthew (Larissa), Rebecca (Chris), Nicholas (Mallory) and Corey (Kristine); and his brother Dr. Llewelyn. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great- great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
