It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold Edward Melvin (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who passed away on March 18, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Melvin and Miriam Melvin; his brothers, Joe, David and Jerry; his father-in-law Gordon "Turk" Murphy; and his siblings-in-law, Fran, Mike Swick, Reg Grentz and Larry Rhynold.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila; his sons, Scott of Dartmouth, David of Halifax and Paul of Dartmouth; his siblings, Mernie (Swick), Rita (Grentz) and Mike Melvin; his sisters-in-law, Mary and Linda; his mother-in-law Hazel Murphy; and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Rhynold, Sharon Ingraham (Garland) and Steve Murphy (Francie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and the family will hold a funeral, interment, and celebration of his amazing and full life at a later date in light of the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada, and/or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
