It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Leopold MacKay in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 5, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wives, Dorothy MacKay and Evelyn Davies; and his siblings, Myrtle Turple (Elmore), Norman McKay, Benjamin McKay (Debbie), Cecil McKay, Thomas "Pop" Monk and Thomas Jr. Monk (Margaret).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Alicia Langille (Wally), Tom Davies, Theresa Langille, Martina Williams, Robert Gale, Jamie Gale and Wallie Gale; his grandchildren, Matthew Gallant (Alisha), Morgan Henderson (Tom), Brandon Whynot, Brandon Gale and Colton Gale; and his siblings, Marion Monk (Thomas), Margaret Kidson (Bob), Ruby Kidson (Ralph), Donald McKay (Pam), Joseph Monk (Sharon), Anthony Monk (Marilyn), Jerome Monk and Marianne Marshall (Harry). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, as Herb has always credited them with helping give him a second chance at life.
