It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ignatius Edward Furey (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), who passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret and George; his stepfather John Woodford; his brother George; his sister-in-law Bernice; his brother Hubert; and his brothers-in-law, John James and Bob Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Michael (Lyne Mallette), Mark (Kelly Cook), Susan (James Fraser), John (Anne), Scott (Andrea) and Dawne; his siblings, Marion Lewis (Mar), Lillian James (Lil) and Jack (Mary); and his sister-in-law Eleanor. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Xxiii Church (35 Colby Dr, Dartmouth, NS B2V1N7). Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cremated RemainsDartmouth Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens (767 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9).
