He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Fairbairn and Alma Rae; his stepfather Leslie Steele; and his half-brother Murdy Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his children, Heather, Scott (Paula), Steven (Meredith), Darren (Sandra) and Derek (Eileen); and his grandsons, Nicholas and Joshua.
