He is survived by: his parent Margaret Elizabeth MacDearmid (MacIver); his children, Diane Messel (Jim) of Ottawa, Nancy Smyth (Mike), Halifax, Richard (Pat), Dartmouth, Randy (Cynthia) and Westville; his grandchildren, Jamie, Katie, Brendan, Melanie, Matthew, Heather, Anna and Mallory; his great grandchildren, Isla, Benjamin, Jackson, Isaac, Cohen, Harrison, Ryland, Iver and Lylah; his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Lynn, Joanne, Colene, Brent, John, Blair, Lois, Harvey, David and Beth; and his sisters-in-law, Nova Bannerman and Christine Self.
