James Ross Thorpe Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 25, 2022, at the age of 81, James Ross Thorpe of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Winston S.; his brother Rev. Alfred Thorpe; his children, Clarice Gardner, Jean and Mabel MacDougall; his wife Shirley Gravel (Mayo); his son James Robert "Rob" Thorpe (Sarah Della Valle) of Ottawa; his stepsons, Richard Gravel (Sandy Logan) of Wellington, NS and Paul Gravel (Claudine Revert) of Ottawa; his siblings, Peter Thorpe (Doris Gates) of Dartmouth and Janey Lyons (Rodney) of North Vancouver, BC; his siblings' children, Laura, Julie, Kristin and Eriq; and also Jane MacDougall. He was also cherished by four great nieces and 5 great Nephews, sisters-in-law and cousins.
Due to pandemic restrictions, a private family farewell and internment will be held.
If you so wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
