She was predeceased by: her parents, Carroll Clayton and Edna Clayton (Robinson); her child Ira Mills; and her siblings, Ruby, Paulette and Gordon.
She is survived by: her close friend Larry Maloney; her children, Stewart (Carole), Kim (David), Kevan (Pam) and Karen (Blair); and her grandchildren, Carl, Tara, Jordan, Sean, Kate, Taylor and Chad. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory can be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA.
