Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joan Marie Barnes (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Hamilton, Ontario, who passed away at the age of 86, on May 22, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Gamelin of Hamilton, Ontario and Caroline Gamelin (Elliott) of Hamilton, Ontario; her brothers, Orville Gamelin (Fran) and Donald Gamelin (Betty); her husband James Barnes (Poopsie); and her son Shawn (Bob Deluney).

She is survived by: her children, Larry (Linda) of Eastern Passage, Forest Hills of Eastern Passage, Lynn Garneau (Richard) of Eastern Passage, John (Gretchen) of Eastern Passage and Cheryl Callahan (Keith) of Eastern Passage; her grandchildren, Michelle Saulnier, Shannon Barnes, Chris, Scott, Shawn, Jeffery, Andrew, Adam (Barnes), Drew Garneau and Deluney; and her close friends, Grant and Tom Mumford. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no visitation or funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or SPCA Dartmouth, where she got her longtime feline friend Joey.
