He was predeceased by: his parents, Gibbons Thompson and Mary Thompson; and his brothers, Ronald, Gerry and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Corinne (Brian), Dwaine (Lisa) and Rick (Vicky); his grandchildren, Jordan, Liam, Chase, Ryan, Aiden, Emma, Joseph and Jackson; his siblings, Miriam (Jim), Leo (Sally), Jack (Ruth), Lillian (George), Minnie (Bob), Camilla (Charles) and Leonard; and his mother-in-law Edith Aker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the trust account at Credit Union Atlantic (Cole Harbour) that has been established to create a bursary at NSCC in Joseph's memory.
