With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Aloysius McInnis of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Joseph and Mary Agnes McInnis (Hest); his wife Mary Bray of Port Morien; his sister Bernadette Gilmet (Cal); and his children, Michael, Danny and Mary Yokoo (Ryu).

He is survived by: his children, Andrew (Xiaoping), Gerard (Angelina), Anne Kelly (Nigel), Theresa Wile (Kevin), Vivian Collacutt (Scott) and Eileen McInnis (Monty Mosher); and his siblings, Ray, Clarey (Dot) and Mary O'Brien.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dartmouth Funeral Home (29 Queen St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y1G4). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas More Church (15 Caledonia Rd, Dartmouth, NS B2X1K7).
