We are sad to announce that on June 22, 2023, at the age of 98, Juanita Fiander (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Chester of Coomb's Cove, NF; her brothers, Eric, Hartley, Sam, John-Robert, Gerald, Ivan and Claude; her daughter Sheila Farnholtz; and her sons-in-law, Robert Glenn and Bernie Farnholtz.

She is survived by: her brother Percy Green (ON); and her children, Barrie Fiander (BC), Verna Glenn (ON), Robert Fiander (NB), Eric Fiander, David Fiander and Michelle Fiander (NS). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

“I was a grown woman when I first met Juanita, invited to a family supper by her daughter Michelle. She invited me to call her "Nanny Fiander". I remember her tiny kitchen was like command central, where she produced the best ham dinners to feed a not-so-tiny family. She had a soft Newfoundland laugh (yes with a little inhale) and was a meticulous house keeper. I marveled at her seamstress skills. She lived a good long life, loved by her family and friends. Surely she is at peace knowing this..”
