He is survived by: his children, Monika Kretschmar, Veronika Schmidt and Terry Schmidt (Gitte); his grandchildren, Alix Rayner (James), Christine Lorimer (Alex Haynes), Erik Schmidt and Brett Schmidt; and his great grandchild Emmie Rayner.
