He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. John Ashley and Margaret (Sutton); his sister Catherine Wood; his niece Ardeth Wood; his wife Joni (Clare); his daughter Kate Ashley (Paul); his grandchildren, Duncan, Frances and James; his child S. Ashley; his granddaughter Jaela; his siblings, Father William Ashley and Margaret Walton; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia Clare and Brenden Wood. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A requiem service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Parish – St. Agnes (6903 Mumford Rd, Halifax, NS B3L2H4).
